Short Description

Crepe bandages are elasticated, woven cotton wraps used to provide light to moderate compression and support for sprains, strains, and joint pain. They help reduce swelling by restricting fluid buildup and are highly versatile for securing wound dressings in place.

Key Features & Benefits
    • Compression: Helps minimize swelling in soft tissues by providing steady, localized pressure.
    • Support: Stabilizes sore joints (wrists, ankles, knees) while still allowing safe movement.
    • Reusable: Made of breathable cotton that can be washed and used repeatedly.

How to Apply Correctly
    1. Start below the injury: Begin wrapping the limb from the furthest point away from your heart (e.g., base of the toes if wrapping an ankle).
    2. Use overlapping layers: Lay the bandage flat and overlap each turn by about one-third to half of its width. Avoid creases or lumps that can rub the skin.
    3. Secure the end: Use the provided metal clips or medical tape to fasten the end securely.

Important Precautions
  • Avoid wrapping too tightly: Check for numbness, tingling, or discoloration in your toes or fingers. If these occur, unwrap the bandage immediately and reapply more loosely.
  • Never apply directly to open wounds: Always place a sterile pad or dressing over broken skin before wrapping with a crepe bandage.
  • Remove while sleeping: It is generally recommended to take compression bandages off before going to bed to prevent restricted blood flow.
